Can’t say enough about Monmouth spca! My wife and I drove 2 hours Because we heard such great things! Danielle was our adoption counselor and she was the absolute best, showed us multiple dogs listened to us about our life and lifestyle and helped us figure out who would fit us best! And we ended up going with a sweet little girl named cookie ( new name- Harley) she is the best pup and we are so in love! She’s been here in her new home for 3 days but seems she’s been here for a lifetime! Thank you so much! John & katie
The Monmouth County SPCA is an outstanding organization dedicated to the well-being of animals. The care and compassion exhibited by the staff and volunteers are truly remarkable. Their commitment to finding loving homes for animals in need is evident in every interaction. The facilities are clean, and the animals receive top-notch medical attention and enrichment. The adoption process is smooth and thorough, ensuring the best match between pets and families. Additionally, the educational initiatives and community outreach efforts contribute to a more compassionate society. Supporting the Monmouth County SPCA is not just an investment in animal welfare; it's a commitment to creating a better future for pets and people alike. Five stars, without a doubt!
This is an appreciation post. On October 28, 2017 we adopted a Bichon Poodle named Windy (name changed to Cooper) from the MCSPCA. Unfortunately he passed away on July 10, 2023 due to Diabetes, Cushing's Disease and other illness. We chose to go to this shelter because of a personal references from a friend who had also adopted from there. The entire staff was amazing and I tell anybody who wants to adopt a pet to go there. You won't be disappointed. We don't know when if ever we will be ready to adopt again but when and if that time comes we will definitely adopt our next fur baby from the MCSPCA.
These people LOVE animals, and that is the number one qualifier, in my opinion, for a 5 star rating at an animal shelter.
They made adopting our two baby cats easy, fun, and exciting. I worked specifically with Nina, who was wonderful in answering a ton of emails and questions before we got to the adoption center.
Would recommend this place 100 times over. They were amazing.
Almost 2 weeks ago we adopted our boy Charlie who was the missing piece to our family’s completion. Everyday we discover something new with him like how he likes to bark at inanimate objects and chomp at the plants in Dad’s garden! The MCSPCA made the process of getting Charlie in our family so easy which we couldn’t thank them enough for! Stephanie was an angel who was rooting for us to get Charlie the entire time we were visiting. (It’s like she knew we were meant to be!) We can’t wait for him to spend the rest of his life with us, and we can’t recommend a better place to adopt from! Adopt don’t shop!
Horrible customer service. I had the date wrong for a spay in September, which I had rescheduled. They then called me to reschedule because they made a mistake a had double-booked me. We were rescheduled to December, but we had Covid and I called and they said they would hold my deposit and call in January to reschedule. I called today to do that and I was told that my deposit was gone, and they would need another one, and that the first deposit wouldn't count towards the spay. This was the first time that I was told I would lose my deposit, and they were NASTY and ARGUED that they only had record of my cancelling, and NOT them. They also had the nerve to state that the deposit covers them when they lose money for cancellations, but I hardly believe that since they are in the habit of double-booking. Don't waste your time or money.
I’m a bit disappointed with my experience at the Vogel Vet Center. I took my 7 month old kitten here for the spay surgery and everyone was very nice initially, they said she did great during the surgery and gave us comprehensive instructions for post op care. They said that if anything comes up or she has any complications to let them know ASAP and to bring her back so they can check her out. When they first called two days later, she had been recovering well. However, later that day she began having pretty bad diarrhea, started vomiting and wouldn’t eat (very unusual for her). The next day her condition worsened and I took her to another vet since Monmouth county SPCA was closed, so no biggie but I called multiple times Monday morning when they opened and left 3 messages. Someone finally answered after calling 5 times and when I explained the situation they basically just said they were fully booked and they couldn’t see her. When I told them that my kitten’s condition got so bad that I’d have to hospitalize her, they seemed like they didn’t care. Its been several days (and $4,000 in vet bills) later and still no one has reached out to see how she’s doing. The emergency vet revealed that she had fluid buildup in her intestines, causing her symptoms in addition to her being in pain from the surgery. I’m not necessarily saying the complications were because of a mistake they made, it could’ve just been a random complication, but i chose this place for the spay surgery based on the great reviews on Google and felt I needed to share my experience for others in the same boat.
My cat is tough to wrangle. The vet and tech were very patient with her and they addressed and put me at ease about the couple of concerns I had. They also did her spay earlier this year, affordably. I'm glad they have regular vet services now at The Vogel Center.
